Easy Studio

Easy Studio is an excellent iPad app for teaching kids how to create custom animations.  This is done in a very user friendly way that has students use shapes to follow patterns and take screen shots to create animations.  The process is not that different then those familiar w/ stop motion.  Also, this is done by building on lessons getting more complex as they go along.

I highly recommend checking out Easy Studio by clicking here!!!

Acapela.tv

Acapela.tv is a really fun site for kids that I just found out about from the award winning and innovative educator, Ozge Karaoglu.  This site allows student or teachers to create a animated video/cartoon using different scenes.  All a user has to do is type in their text (up to 200 characters) and watch as the scenes says it for you.  Best of all a finished video can be embedded into a site/blog which is ideal for educators.

I highly recommend checking out Acapela.tv by clicking here!!!

Sketch Star

Sketch Star is a cool site that I just found out about from Free Technology 4 Teachers.  This is a great site for creating custom animations frame by frame.  A user has lots of tools to choose from such as: puppets, objects, brushes, etc.  After a frame is completed it can be arranged into order by dragging-n-dropping on the timeline (think iMovie).
